As we face the COVID-19 pandemic, we are experiencing constant and fast-breaking changes around the world requiring us to monitor closely the guidelines issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the measures taken by governments and authorities in their respective countries regarding the health and safety of their citizens.
For these reasons, it is our responsibility at BASC to anticipate events and take measures to help mitigate the risks faced by our member companies, staff, and auditors, to allow the continuity of their operations and processes relating to the security of international trade.
At the same time, we are vigilant to the requirements of our BASC countries to ensure that we can continue to execute our processes most effectively, supporting our chapters and member companies, developing temporary action plans and options to solutions, without affecting confidence in our BASC Norms and Standards.
We urge you to consider all measures set out by national and local authorities as well as the latest directives from official sources to ensure you receive reliable and accurate information.
Soon we will be providing more details on the steps we are taking at World BASC Organization to adopt temporary procedures and regulations during this health emergency to ensure we maintain the BASC vision and philosophy, based on security and trust.
At our WBO headquarters in Miami, we have temporarily suspended international travel and in-person conferences and meetings. However, we continue to maintain all of our activities and services through remote technology that enables us to respond timely and effectively to the needs of our members and chapters.
